I wrote FOREVER very loosely about a couple that the wife and I used to hang out with. We really loved them both, but for some reason, they just couldn't stand each other.
So, I wrote the lyrics (again, loosely) based on what I thought might be going on in his head. It seems like no matter how much he can't stand her (and vice versa), he just figured that's how it is. So, somewhere deep in his soul, he loved her.
Well, they've since divorced and this song has kinda taken off as it is our most requested original songs to date. It seems like more and more people have this same type of experience.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but...it is what it is.
