This is a song that I wrote on acoustic guitar and had this riff going for a while until Tracy (Singer/Violinist of GutBucket) and I decided to turn it into something.
First, we decided to make it off time - so, we made it in seven (4/3), instead of the usual eight (or 4/4).
The lyrics were written by Tracy, and to me, the lyrics are just about how people differ on their beliefs, but, many of the problems we all face are the same (You're not the only one).
I like how the 1st person says," I don't believe in God or Santa Claus, I'm to old for that." And then the 2nd person says "It must get lonesome". 1st says "It be that way, sometimes", and she says "You're not the only one.".
That exchange makes me happy 'cause the 1st person didn't have to explain him or herself. And the second person just accepted the 1st person for that.
