PAUL WRITES:
On the first of the year, a couple from 'around the 'hood', called it quits after 5 years of marriage - then having two kids. I didn't know them at all, but it turned out that the wife was leaving the husband.
Well, there was a lot of gossip going around, but I didn't listen to much of that. I did decide to put myself in his shoes... How he'd have to watch his family walk out on him. I guess I felt sorry for him and thought, if he wasn't the problem, and he really was the innocent party, how terribly hard that would be.
I guess this one, to me, is 'one for the Dads' that are actually victims of their wives.

You Said...
I never really thought it would ever fall apart after all we've been through
I heard you say it wouldn't go this way - now that ain't true
And now you say you're fallin' apart, need to breakout, make a new start
I never really thought it would ever fall apart after all we've been through
***CHORUS***
You said you'd never leave me
You said you'd always be there
If you didn't say, you wouldn't run away, it might be okay
but you said you'd never leave me
You took your heart from me...
Same ol' cliché, king for one day, lifetime the fool
Can't you see what you've done to me since I lost you?
Now you say you need me to pay, to take the kids from me, far away
Same ol' cliché, king for one day, lifetime the fool
***CHORUS***
***SOLO***
***CHORUS***
